CHECKING A DOCUMENT FOR SPELLING ERRORS

The Spell Checker that is built into HJPad can be an extremely valuable tool for those of us who have less than perfect spelling. When activited, a dialogue box appears giving several options to choos from. This dialogue box is very imilar to those you have already encountered in this this tutorial.

The F7 key is the quick key command that activates the spell checker in HJPad; however,, it is also possible to activate the spell checker via the menu bar under the tools menu.

While the dictionary that comes with HJPad is quite extensive, it will still rely on you to define words that it has not
yet encountered such as initials, proper names and acronyms. You may add words to the dictionary from within the spell checker dialog, when ever you come across a word or phrase that is not recognized by the spell checker. However, a word of caution here. When adding words to your custom dictionary, be sure of your spelling as HJPad will not detect the new spelling as an error once it has been added to the dictionary.

When using the spell checker, it is important to keep in mind that the choices that appear within this dialogue box will changed depending whether the text in question is in the form of a single word or phrase.
